younger career seeker
Samuel graduated from high school in 2014. He wasn’t sure what to do, but knew he needed to find a skill or trade. He saw an ad in the newspaper for electrical grounds man training. He called about the program and was referred to the Valley Workforce Center for potential training assistance. Samuel completed all of the requirements for the WIA program and registered for the training at Lord Fairfax Community College.
While attending classes, he completed work readiness classes and worked on preparing a good resume. The grounds man training provided him with skills in electrical components, which helped him find a job with Team Service as a Bank Volt Technician. He enjoys his new job and new-found confidence, and says “This program helped me a lot with getting the right certificates.”Return to Success Stories
