Valley Workforce Centers facilitate a number of opportunities for career seekers to get work experience.

  • On-the-Job Training (OJT). On-the-Job training helps career seekers learn skills and earn a wage while they train. Using Valley Workforce Centers to prepare for an OJT position, eligible career seekers can benefit from this assistance by receiving valuable hands-on training that increases skills and leads the way to permanent employment. To determine your eligibility for WIOA OJT, contact a Workforce Center near you. To determine your eligibility for Valley OJT opportunities in advanced manufacturing and healthcare contact Valley OJT.
  • Internships. For Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) eligible individuals, internships may be available to help develop job readiness skills and the possibility of full time employment. Eligible career seekers may receive up to 300 hours of paid work experience. To determine your eligibility for WIOA OJT, contact a Workforce Center near you.
  • Registered Apprenticeships. Registered Apprenticeship programs provide structured, on-the-job learning in traditional industries such as construction and manufacturing, as well as new emerging industries such as health care, information technology, energy, telecommunications and more. Registered Apprenticeship program qualifications and requirements vary, so speak to your employers about investigating opportunities.
